Malcolm Craig. Artist & Sculptor
As an artist Malcolm needed a place that would inspire him. After scouring the Barossa Valley he found an old stone barn in Kapunda (which has been renovated), fell in love with its character and atmosphere and in 2009 Malcolm moved from his birthplace Perth, Western Australia to the picturesque Barossa Valley. He now tells everyone it's the "coolest" place in Australia for an artist to do their 'thing'!
Malcolm has worked in all mediums and fell in love with Pastels, bright colours, longevity and the intimacy of this medium.
Inspiration for Malcolm comes from his friends and the beauty of the Australian landscape.
Malcolm has had 7 Solo Exhibitions in Western Australia, is represented in numerous private collections and has been frequently commissioned. Malcolm was also 2008 Spring in the Valley West Australian Artist and has numerous awards. Malcolm has also been published in “The Pastellist International”. As well as painting Malcolm also works in wire sculptures of mainly Australian wildlife.
Malcolm’s Gallery reflects his inspiration with artwork of the surrounding landscape and vineyards of the Barossa Valley along with works of the Swan Valley.
“I like my work to be a bit different and pursue my art to this end, including landscapes and sculptures. I am always looking for different ways of expressing my art with the aim to move people emotionally...”
